The City of Lynnwood is recruiting for the position of
Project Manager - Engineering. This position is located
in the Public Works Department. Basic responsibility is for project
or program management, engineering or contract administration
matters within the scope of the Public Works Department. Specific
functions depend on responsibilities and may include technical,
administrative, or supervisory activity involving a variety of
field, office, traffic, or related types of assignments. Work of
this position requires a high degree of independent judgment and
action in planning projects, resolving technical problems, and
administering projects within the framework of established
policies. Supervision of professional and technical personnel may
be required.
Examples of essential functions of the position include but are
not limited to:
Oversee comprehensive planning, development of policies and
guidelines, administration, record keeping, reporting and budgeting
of assigned programs and/or projects.
Perform project engineering, including written project
analyses, plans, specifications, estimates, environmental reports,
and legal/boundary research.
May draft, administer, and negotiate specifications and
contracts for capital improvement projects and serve as project
engineer.
May supervise the acquisition of property associated with
public works projects.
May supervise the Local Improvement District (LID) process
including, but not limited to, the formation of the LID, the
preparation of petitions, and preliminary and final assessment
rolls.
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil
Engineering or related discipline plus three (3) years related
experience plus a Professional Engineer license in the State
of Washington or ability to obtain one within six months or
demonstrated equivalent experience.
