Senior Credit Analyst I

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing credit risks, assessing credit history and approving or denying extension of credit to potential customers. This team member has contact with other company departments, as well as automobile dealers and other finance and credit sources.

JOB DUTIES:
Analyze credit data to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
Make decisions to approve or deny the extension of credit within set credit authority established by senior management and state/federal laws.
Develop sufficient dealer relationships that ensure volume objectives and credit quality. Capture automotive finance contracts that meet GM Financial profitability criteria for pricing and performance.
Ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
Ensure branch office cooperation with other departments, to maximize efficiency within the company.
Ensure all queues are worked to acceptable service levels. Conduct joint dealer calls with Dealer Relationship Manager (DRM) on an as needed basis.
Perform outbound telemarketing calls to the dealer customer.
Establish and track monthly goals for assigned dealers.
Ensure proper documentation is received on all deals. May provide training or assistance to lower level Credit Analysts.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to: Regional Credit Manager

Qualifications:
Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of indirect retail auto financing and other facets of consumer credit, including knowledge of credit laws and regulations.
Advanced knowledge of the credit laws and regulations as well as the Company's credit policies.

Skills:
Ability to effectively negotiate contract terms that help meet company objectives.
Sales skills necessary to develop and maintain productive dealer relationships.
Ability to independently evaluate and make consistent, quality credit decisions that produce acceptable ratios and returns for the company.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Good analytical skills required.
Strong work ethic.
Superior customer relations skills.

Experience:
Must have successfully completed the Credit Services Certification.
Proven record and extensive background in consumer finance industry, including 2 years auto finance experience.
High School Diploma or GED required.
College degree with emphasis on marketing/finance preferred. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree.

WORK CONDITIONS:
High energy and fast paced office environment, subject to stressful situations. Must be available for some weekend and after hours work.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
